Supplies for Your Dog

If you are a dog owner already, then you probably have a good idea of what you’ll need. If not, then you’ll want to consider getting the following supplieds:

  • Food - A high quality dog food will keep a dog healthy. Diets can change and perhaps will include both kibble and wet food.
  • Bowls - Heavy bowls for both food and water can ensure that a dog doesn’t flip them while being very excited about their food.
  • Collars and Leashes - These are to help you take your dog out for their daily walk. Make sure they are high durability and won’t slip from your hand. There’s nothing worse than your dog seeing a squirrel and suddenly breaking loose.
  • Bed - Some people like having multiple dog beds placed throughout the home so that their dog always has a place to sleep. In these cases, the pets are usually not allowed on the furniture. For some people, this could be a dog crate which the dog uses as their home base.
  • Training Aids - If your dog needs some training, there are a variety of different training aids you might invest in. Clickers and training collars are common. Pee pads are a good place to start house training a puppy.
  • Toys - A dog that feels entertained and stimulated will be better behaved and avoid damaging items in the home. Make sure the toys fit the breed and their intelligence level.

Supplies for Your Cat

Cats are incredibly clean creatures and they like a clean home around them. This manifests them in a lot of the supplies that you need to get your cats. Items you need include:

  • Litter Boxes/Litter - Litter box technology has come a long way as people try to avoid having to clean up their cats poops. Many are now automatic and feature vacuum sealed bags. Litter itself has come a long way as well and can do a lot to reduce scent issues.
  • Food - Cats can be picky at times. Finding healthy food they love is a great step.
  • Scratching Posts - Cats need to stretch and scratch. Scratching keeps their nails healthier. To keep them from tearing up your furniture, it’s good to teach a cat to use a scratching post and have several throughout the home so they don’t feel tempted.
  • Toys - Cats are like dogs, they need stimulation. If you find some toys they love, they will be happier and more entertained.
  • Beds - Cats are well known for their love of sleep. Having some comfortable beds placed throughout the home will ensure they can cat nap in comfortable places and avoid sleeping on your laptop or other places you’d prefer they don’t.
  • Brushes - Cats are healthier when you brush their fur regularly. This is also really useful because it will help to collect fur and minimize the shedding that occurs.
